IT IS EASY TO SAY BUT SO HARD TO LIVE
Greetings to you in the name of Jesus:
I've been doing these blogs now for over 20 years, and indent time I have seen many different things. Among those that stick out in my mind the most is the difference between what people say about Christ and to help people live out in obedience to Christ. It seems like it is human nature to reject the absolute truth that God shows us every day about his existence and his Lordship. There was a statement made by Gen. Omar Bradley where he said"we have grasped the mystery of the Atom and rejected the sermon on the mount. The world is achieved brilliance without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear Giants and ethical infants."
God has absolutely no reason to be apologetic for his physician in the world. My dad used to tell me when I was a little boy "you'd better obey me, I brought you into this world, and I can take you out". We as mankind have long questioned the authority of God in this world and yet Jesus still stood in front of a Jewish home according to Luke 5:20-25 "and when he saw their faith, he said to him, man, your sins are forgiven you. And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason saying, who is this which speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said to them, what do you reason in your hearts? Whether it is easier, to say, your sins be forgiven you; or to say, rise up and walk? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power upon earth to forgive sins, he said to the sick of the palsy, I say to you, arise, and take up your couch and go into your house. And immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had laid upon, and departed to his own house, glorifying God." It has been all this time out of God's love for us that he is made away for our salvation. We still have not understood the fact that God did not come to call the righteous unto repentance, but to call the sinner unto repentance. We find each one of us is in the same condition when it comes to our salvation.
There will never be an easy way to live out Christ in our life, and there will never be a shortcut to achieve Christian growth except through the teachings and submission that we give to the Holy Spirit. God shows his power to us each and every day; his loving tenderness and concern for who we are and where we are heading is so much greater than we can ever comprehend. The problem is always in our response to that great love. Without even realizing there is a big problem in the Christian community of people speaking with forked tongues. Without understanding God's word we simply create a ready-made answer by reading the words that are set before us without understanding their context or their meaning, and then we spout answers in very religious terms that the world around us cannot understand. Paul and deal with much of the same kind of problem as he wrote in his second letter to the Corinthian church.2 Corinthians 3:12-18 "seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech. And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel would not steadfastly look into the end of that which is abolished; but their minds were blinded; for until this day remains the same veil on taken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which veil is done away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless, when it has shown turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the spirit of the Lord ."
William Tynsdale once said "Be cold, sober, circumspect, keep yourself low to the ground avoiding high questions. Expound the law truly and open the veil of Moses to condemn all flesh and prove all men to be sinners, and set at broach the mercy of our Lord Jesus, and let the wounded conscience drink of Him." In other words be smart about what you say and do in the Lord. Don't try to answer questions that you don't know the answers to. Open up the truth about God's word to the best of your understanding, and let God's Spirit do His work within you. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
