HEARING THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus:

As I have done studies over these many years now I have found that most of us who claim Christ have found some things lacking even within the basic principals of our belief system.  Things like HEARING the word of God take on a completely different meaning the more involved we get in the process.  One of the principal areas we overlook is what does God really mean when He asks us to hear?  For God the entire measure of hearing the truth that is spoken through the Good News of Jesus Christ to us is to understand that we must hear with so much more than our physical ears.  Among the first of things that we must hear and understand is written clearly for us in the  book of Romans 3:23 which states "We have all sinned , and have fallen short of the glory of God".

It is this first statement that is heavily criticized by the world around us which asks the question " are we really all that bad?"  The potential for us not to hear that truth is overwhelming when we see  how far the Christian community is willing to go to deny that fact.  The enemy of God does more to battle with the believer hearing the truth from God's message to us than at any other point in our relationship.  The danger is obvious for the enemy; if we receive the truth and we hold tightly to it we will find easily a common ground to build upon.  If we get a watered down version of this Gospel, and then can establish a tradition built around our own ideas of what that truth is we can never get any real traction together because of the divisions among us.  The next part of HEARING in the mind of God tells what it is that sin does to our communication and our relationship with God while it is in the stages of not being dealt with. Romans  6:23 " For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".  This information tells us two things; first that we have sinned, and then that God has prepared a way out for us. Both of these things require a great deal more than just hearing with our ears to fully comprehend. Our relationship with God is centered upon our belief that God is truly who He says He is, and that these facts are not in our control.  How do we go about hearing these eternal consequences? We cannot just hear this with our ears, but we need to begin to listen closely with our heart.  As we begin to really listen to this information from God to us we can begin to see that the intent of God's heart toward us is that of love.  Romans 5:8 " But God commended this Love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners; Christ died for us."  Because this message from God to us is so valuable to us we must strain our whole self to listen intently with our heart.  In order for us to respond well to this GOOD NEWS we must first allow God to touch our spirit and awaken our spiritual senses.

If we are truly able to hear God speak to us as His creation we will begin to respond to Him ; not in a physical way, but in a spiritual way.  It is the spirit within us that responds to God's voice to us automatically just like a switch being turned on.  It is from this point that we must make a decision about our response to these facts.  We have just stepped beyond the point of hearing with our ears in the ways we hear this world.  This becomes the point of belief for us in the message that Jesus was sent here to give to us from the Father.  Romans 10: 8-11  " But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart;that is the word of faith, which we preach. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe with thy heart that God has raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture says whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed".  As we begin to see these words cause us to respond beyond  just the recognition of sound, but from within our fiber as a creation .  Something is awakened within us that we simply must respond to, and it may take a life time to answer.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
