Thoughts on prayer continued:

Greetings in the name of Jesus

The second of the areas of prayer I would like to discuss with you today deals with PRAYING WITH CLEAN HANDS AND A PURE HEART According to Psalms 24:3-4. I can imagine that there are many people in this country today who are asking themselves how do you get "CLEAN HANDS AND A PURE HEART?"One of the first things that comes to my mind is the need to work on ourselves first before we tried to convince our neighbor that they need to be cleansed of sin. It all comes down to simply confessing our own sins to God through Jesus Christ, whose blood cleanses from all sin .(1 John 1:7-9 )

A very interesting promise that God has made to us is that he will not only for give our sin if we come to him and in faith ask him, but he will also forget that sin according to Hebrews 8:12 the word tells us that he will even justify your life based on the sacrifice of the Savior. This means he will count it as though you have never send in the first place. He will make you pure. In his sight.. or sinless. If we come to Christ in full faith just as we are he has promised to even purge our conscience so that we will no longer have a sense of guilt that you send. This is probably one of the most difficult areas of our Christian walk, and this deals most definitely with cleansing ourselves up sin by coming to Christ and then allowing his Holy Spirit to do the work that is necessary to create in us a clean heart.

This is what it means to be justified by faith. That's why you need to soak yourself in the holy spirit and in God's holy word, by reading the letters to the churches and seeing the wonderful things that God has done for us through the cross of Calvary. I don't believe that we can ever really understand the will of God in our lives unless we can understand what God has done for us, and what he has given us.I also want to tackle today that third point about prayer; which is "HOW TO PRAY GENUINE HEARTFELT PRAYERS." As men and women who come to Christ seeking forgiveness for broken lives we tend to think that we cannot possibly have the right words to speak to a God who loved so completely. The truth is of course that it is only through our own words and our own heart that we can completely communicate with him. We cannot complicate things by using someone else's perfected words even though they may more adequately describe what we feel. God wants us to be present with him by simply keeping ourselves in the love of God. If the love of God is in you, you will never pray hypocritically or selfish prayers. What we need to do is simply talk to our heavenly father is candidly and intimately as a young child who is nestled on daddy's lap would talk to his earthly father.

Stop and think for a moment about how you would feel if your child pulled out a prewritten statement to dryly recite to you rather than pouring out there events and emotions of that day to you?God wants to hear from your heart. It's a truthful statement that when your prayer life is pleasing to God he will reward you openly according to Matthew6:6-9. I would like to end this teaching series in the next blog when I deal with the idea of praying to the God that is revealed to us through Scripture. Please know that our prayer can and should be as simple as possible and directly from the heart to God's ear. May you richly blessed God through your life in him.
