Are we meeting as a church, or as a spiritual family?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I want to continue on in discussing some of the reasons that we meet as a church. It is easy for us to get mixed up between the development of a church and the development of a ministry. While they have many of the same goals in mind there is a different attitude that needs to be developed in a group of people who desire to meet as a spiritual family and someone who is meeting has a develop a ministry and an organization. I believe that we have seen this in our churches more in the last 10 years than at any time in history. There is a point that each church comes to when it must decide to follow the concept of being either God's family or a corporation. That usually happens when the group of people get to be large enough to need critical organization and leadership.

There are cases when the leadership of the group decides that it cannot give away the control that it has or is too afraid to give complete control to God's spirit because of the unknown factor of where that might lead. It becomes the service that we render to God than is the most important thing in the development of a body of believers. God has called us to be unified in his spirit which means that our personal agendas and desires become second to both God's commands and to the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ. There are many things that go into making up a true body of believers, such as the reasons for why we take offerings and present sacrifices to God. The reasons we take offerings must be clear for each Christian. We must first realize we are commanded to bring into the fold the first 10% of our income as a tribute to God. That money goes to God in various ways in the effort that we make to bring this money to God many times determines our commitment to God. The responsibility has nothing to do with the support of a church pastor, or a church body. This should be looked on as a duty that we have two God the father. If we do not teach, preach, or demonstrate this sacrament of worship to the father we are not really doing his will.

We have to ask ourselves then what does true worship really mean to God? What is the fruit of the spirit? How his spiritual fruit a part of the sacrificial offering to God? Any kind of true worship of the father is done to bless the father by our relationship with him, and is done in response to what God has already done for us. The fruit of the spirit then that we seek is actually a byproduct of our relationship with God and should be an automatic response out of our love for him. The fruit of the spirit is not the same as the gifts of the spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is given back to others through the and spiritual obedience to the father wildly gifts that the spirit has given to us are given by God's Spirit himself for a particular work or particular purpose. I believe it is time that we begin to revisit these questions about the basic nature of our worship. Is a tie different than an offering? The concept of the time it deals with that 10% that we give back to God automatically, however a sacrificial offering can be a way of helping in ministry either through the talents that we possess, the money we have, or the positions shared with ministry. In order for us to be unified in the body of Christ we must ask is there something that we should do every time we meet? There must always be a sense of determination among Christians to be of the same mind and heart in Jesus Christ. This is not just in worship services but also outside of the church were we strive for unity with one another. I have asked you a few questions that you might want to take time to ponder before we go on. I want to continue to compare the most important things about worship to God with what the most important things about worship is to us in the next blog. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
