The great trick that we play upon ourselves
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I have felt for a very long time now that a great majority of us who call ourselves by Christ's name have been playing a self defeating game. It is basically a form of hypocrisy where we are saying one thing, and yet living a different thing. From time to time we find scriptures that support this theory and yet whenever possible with quickly glance over it pretending that we don't see it.
2 Corinthians 4:1-2 "therefore, seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God." Paul here was talking about himself, and his desire to be forthright and honest with his ministry. He didn't want anyone to misunderstand what he was trying to say. I believe that he was trying to preach without compromise against sin, but that is something that we don't hear very often today. In 2 Corinthians 3: 12 we see the words;" seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech." I believe that one of the big problems is that many Christians speak with forked tongue. They speak it kind of strange language that can only be understood by those who share the same beliefs or can be interpreted using a special on scrambler. The problem is that most people do not possess the ability to understand "CHURCHY" language.
The language of the common man is still in what one does more so than what he says. Paul indicates throughout the Scripture that if the gospel is hid, it is hid from those that are lost. Paul literally says that the enemy of God has blinded the minds of those who refuse to believe, and they reject the gospel of Christ. They hide from the light that the gospel would shed on their lives. If we are not clear in our message to others by living a life that backs up our words to them we become just as hypocritical as any other false teacher. It is far past time for us to realize that as children of God we are in a warfare. Our first enemy is the world around us, those who are dead set against any kind of good or truth to have dominance in this world. The world loves the darkness and hates the light (John 3:20), and this world is governed by the Prince of the world (Ephesians 2:2). We as Christians have only escaped death through the grace of God and the acceptance of the gift of salvation through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. We also need to realize that there is a second enemy who is Satan himself. The world are simply those who follow after the enemy, and who do his bidding, but it is the devil who is the God of this world, (2 Corinthians 4:4) and we all need to realize that before we came to Christ, and before we joined the family of God Satan was our spiritual father (John 8:44) & (Ephesians 2:2). The enemy of God is a thief who came to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) so we must be aware of all of the tricks that are being played on us right now. There is one more enemy that we need to watch out for, and that is us. It is our flesh, and our natural desire and sinful nature. It is the natural domain for the battle that rages inside of our mind, and all you have to do is allow your will to be attracted to the world and all its sin.
Did you know that God kills people? He killed a man for what he did sexually (Genesis 38:9-10, and he killed another man for being greedy (Luke 12: 15-21), and he killed a husband and a wife for lying ( Acts 5: 1-10) so knowledge of guns goodness his righteous judgments against evil should put fear of God in us and help us not to indulgence in sin. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
