There is nothing that is covered that will not be revealed
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
In today's world more so than at any other time there is an attempt not only to hide the truth, but also to hide the intent behind what people who are in power are trying to do. We find that in many cases it is so much easier to win the trust of people with a lie than it is to tell the truth. Many years ago now in Southern California the police carried out an interesting "sting "operation. They had a list of thousands of wanted criminals who had somehow evaded jail. Instead of risking their lives by going and attempting to arrest each one, they sent out all the criminals a letter telling them that they had one a large amount of money in a drawing. The police put signs and banners on a building, and placed balloons and even a clown on the outside to create a festive atmosphere to welcome the "winners ". As each criminal entered the building, he heard music and celebration, he was then ushered into a room where he smiled as his hand was shaken. The facial expression changed from one of joy to unbelief as each one was told, "congratulations, you have just one time in prison!" Dozens of criminals made their way through the main doors, were arrested and ushered out the back door. It was interesting that many of these lawbreakers declared, "I thought it was a sting operation!" But their greed wouldn't let them stay away..
More than ever before we are dealing with the society filled with people who know they are guilty, and yet they cannot get enough of committing the crime. In the book of Luke 11:42-52 Jesus gives the teachers within the synagogue who are charged with the spiritual leadership of the people five woes. In these warnings that Jesus gave to these leaders it was mostly dealing with taking God out of the center of their lives and replacing him with self. They were charged with taking care of the needs of the people medically and they did that through herbs and ties but they were leaving out the judgment and the love of God. They had begun to look at themselves as more than they should be. They were set as the servants of God, and in doing so their ministry also included their service to men but they set themselves up as more than men, and became an obstacle between the people and their God. They walked around in clothes and robes which were the richest among men they could find, they shined among men as they walk through the crowds. Jesus compared them to the beauty of white washed sepulchers (gravestones) that were beautiful on the outside, and perfect to the eye, but which were filled with dead rotten bones. These people had become lawyers in the highest since for the new God's law and the new how to get around God's law by writing their own amendments to it in the guys of trying to explain the law to common men. What they were doing is loading people up with their own agendas to the law making it almost impossible for anyone to keep it while they themselves knew the truth and didn't burden themselves. It was these very kinds of people who killed the prophets who were sent by God to tell them the truth and their very lives in attitudes bore witness to this sins of their fathers. Finally Jesus came down to the real reason of his disdain for these leaders who were scribes and Pharisees by saying that they had attempted to lock away the knowledge of how to reach God for the people, but not only that; they had refused to try to find God for themselves. They rather tried to lay in wait for Christ to say something or make a mistake so that they could accuse him.
This whole scenario seems very much like what you are dealing with today in our churches and in our government. There is one thing for sure people will never set their faces decidedly towards heaven, and live like pilgrims until they really feel that they are in danger of hell. That is why we need to begin to research together what these 10 Commandments really mean by showing their links, breadth, and depth. Jesus started this discussion in this search among us in the sermon on the mount in the book of Matthew 5: 30, and we cannot do better than to follow his plan. Men will never come to Jesus, stay with Jesus, and live for Jesus unless they really know why they need to come, and what their need is in coming to him. In part that is our job... Yours and mine. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
