Leaving things behind

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Over the last few months I have been troubled by what I see around me, and basically what I see are a people in Christ who have become divided from one another. I don't mean divided against one another, but divided from one another.

This attitude begins to show up in different ways. What I have seen are a people who make claims to believe in Christ, and yet they cannot or will not have faith in one another. This is a period of time in the history where the enemy of God literally walks about seeking whom he may devour, and that is a much easier task when we walk alone. In Psalms 50: 15 it says "and the call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me." The problem really is that no matter what scripture we read, and no matter how hard we may try on our own to live for Christ we will eventually be overrun by the enemy if we separate ourselves from one another. The fact is that each time we take upon our selves the idea that it is we and God against the world we begin to miss God's point about unity and about being one with God. Jesus said that he could do nothing without the power of the Holy Spirit guiding him each step of the way in his ministry. Jesus said that everything he told us was coming directly from the father, and that it was the commandment of the father that he was following as he traveled the road to the cross of Calvary. One of the greatest desires that Jesus had, and that the father relayed to us through Jesus was then we become one with each other, one with Jesus together, and that we all would be one with the father through God's Holy Spirit.

There are two sides in our relationship with God. One side is that which we as Christians concentrate the most on; which is the love, mercy, and grace of God's heart. There is another side to God that we have yet to see, and it is the side of God as Jesus returns to this world not in peace, but in judgment. This second side of God is one which men and women of this world refused to believe exists for they cannot comprehend a God who can love so much as to forgive and sacrifice what he has so that we might be with him. I believe that in many ways the second side of God, the God of judgment and righteousness upon the second coming of Christ will be even more unbelievable to the world, and yet the reality of the suffering and fear will not be denied. Psalms 50: 22- 23 says "now consider this, you that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there being none to deliver. Whosoever offers praise glorifies me; and to him that orders his conversation right will I show the salvation of God."

There is a saying that I read recently that says "when we die we leave behind all that we have, and to take with us all that we are". I believe that somehow in the midst of all of our scrambling to do God's will personally we may well ignoring who it is we are in God's eyes. We are created to be his children, to walk and talk with him as his own family, but just as much is that includes each of us as individuals it also means that we are all meant to be family together, and not separately. Guns word already contains a fearful word for a godless world the delights in entertainment. Glorifying theft, violence, adultery, and hatred. They assume that heavens silence is heavens signature, God threatens fearful wrath, and offers salvation to those who will listen. And I fear that in these days we as Christians are not listening to the rest of the story... That is the part of the story where Jesus returns to judge the world. We have lost our fear of God's wrath as humanity, and that is a very dangerous position to be in. The world is saying when you're dead you're dead, but one of their wrong? What if God, Jesus, the prophets, the Jews, and the Christians are right and you are wrong? Hebrews 9: 27 says "and as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment". The judgment of God is just as a real is God's grace toward us. His righteous judgment is just as true as his salvation message to those who believe in Christ. It is time that we took all of guns word in to our hearts and began making that word a part of who we are, and not simply something we have. We will only be able to take with us who it is that we are, for none of the things that we have will go with us. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
