A prayer about evil
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
In the days and the weeks ahead it is beginning to be more important than ever before then we who are in Christ take a verbal, and a physical stand against evil. I believe the only thing that we can effectively do now as Christians is to humble ourselves and pray that our voice is heard throughout this land, and that there are enough of us willing to speak out for justice and righteousness within this land to make a difference. In an effort to help us and to lead our thoughts in doing this I want to offer a prayer today.
Dear – heavenly father our first desire in our heart is to give you praise and glory for the fact that you are our father. I asked Lord that your complete will would be done in our land, and that our hearts would be opened up to understand what your righteous word really means to us. I pray father that your will and your word would rule over our hearts in this land, and that in what ever ways we can turn our hearts back to you as our sovereign Lord and father. We know Lord that you will ultimately judge all evil in the last day. But there have also been times here on earth when your anger against evil was poured out in judgment. Lord you have risen up at times and said,"ENOUGH"! For other people who live in evil lifestyle put themselves in harms way enough times that eventually evil comes directly at them. Father we as a country have been flirting with that evil and contempt for your control for a long time. We as Christians have allowed that evil to creep in so that it has had the chance to take control of our very lives, our government, and our leadership. I pray father that you would help us to not get so close to evil that we find ourselves in harms way because of your righteous and intimate judgment. I ask father instead that you fill us with your spirit so we are not attracted to those who do evil. Father convict our hearts so that we can see clearly your light at the end of a very dark tunnel we have been walking in as a nation. Don't let us become like them. I pray that we will never be so in touch with evil that it will suddenly dawned on us again how dangerous our situation is. Grant us father the grace to be strengthened by those who love you and who follow you wholeheartedly. Help us to remember the words of Psalm 1:6 "the Lord watches over the pass of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction." Help us father to no longer be divided by our own greed and desire for power over those around us, forgive us father for using the sharpness of our tongue to hurt our friends. Father it is not too late to undo the consequences of apathy in our land if we take a stand now. Lord we have hurt one another, and divided ourselves against one another in our nation, but you speak to us of love and unity. You tell us father of ways that we can once again be united through the power of Christ. Father I pray that you will read deem our foolishness and bring something positive out of the situation. As your word says in the book of Hosea 10:12 "plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvested crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come in shower righteousness upon you." I ask you father that you give us who claim your name the power to turn the situation around, and that our hearts intent would be pure toward you. I asked Lord that you give us the things that we need to do the tasks that you have given us to do and that we could humble ourselves before you once again as your children, knowing and living out your lordship among us. Help us father not to be beggars within this world, but to be able to show forth the true witness of your kingdom in our lives. I pray that you would forgive us, and that you would take us back in your arms and show us your mercy once again. I ask all of this in the name of your son and our Lord Jesus Christ, hallelujah,AMEN.
Dear friends I ask only that as you read this prayer that you will add your own heart to it so that our Lord might be given glory for all that is done for us. I pray that we will truly become one in Christ again. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
