A point of light; our relationship with ourselves
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
For years I worried about finding the perfect mate for me. I couldn't find anyone who could share all the peculiar qualities and desires that I had and I didn't know why. I went through several relationships always thinking it was the other person's fault that it didn't work because they didn't fit me, but I never thought about the fact that I may have needed to adapt to the needs of the other person as well. It is so easy for us to live inside of her own skin thinking that everyone else must think, feel and react in the same way we do to all of life's experiences when in fact we are all put together so uniquely that there are no two of us who are exactly the same that along with the fact that there are too many areas that a good relationship depends upon that it becomes absolutely necessary first to find out who we are as people first before we can even try to relate to another individual in such a personal way.
As we seek for self identification our journey must become both spiritual as well as physical. It must become a journey which is taken just for you along, and not for the sake of any other person or thing in your life. It begins with a mental snapshot that you must take of yourself right now, and just the way that you are as you stand there. There isn't time for you to do prep work for this mental photograph because were looking for the truth. It's time for you to discover exactly who you are on the inside, and so the outside appearance has little to do with it. Take a long and detailed look at who you see there. Look at who your likes and dislikes from the standpoint of someone you would see as the third-party would be. Be objective as you view the attitudes that you encounter as you stroll through the inside. Look at the experiences, the beliefs and the prejudice that you have developed in your life and think back about how they were brought about in your life and think back about how they were brought about in your life. Stop just for a moment and think about the reasons that you're looking for the kind of person that you are in life for a soulmate because it will have a lot to do with the truth about the values that you have deep within yourself. Explore those for a while, and then reevaluate them as you think about the person and attitudes that you most admire in someone. Did those fit together? It becomes this kind of process that makes a big difference in a way that you will approach the truth about who it is you are. The second step is becoming completely honest about who you are now, and what you see in your own life that you are the most proud of, and what you see there that you're the most ashamed of.
It is this kind of honesty with who you are right now that will help you see the areas that may need to be worked on. It's only after you've gone through the process that you will know the real person that you are, and whether or not you like what it is that you see. During the period of time it takes for you to go through this process you should not allow yourself to become distracted by the world around you. It would be best to stop most of the activities that you have been involved so that you can concentrate on your own development right now. It will be a golden opportunity for you that you will be thankful you did later on. It's important that we look as clearly as we can at what is actually there inside of us as possible before making the decision as to whether we like we see are not, but when we do see areas that should not be there we need to be willing to change the; we can't just ignore them because they won't go away. If we see points bother us we can be certain that they will bother others well. In fact some of those things can become amplified by others personalities, and make us even worse than we are now each time we come upon one of these areas is important that we study just like we would any other of the life problems that we face. We cannot get emotionally attached to the why and whereas these things have developed in us because they simply become excuses for us being we are. That process does not solve the problem. Let's face it no one is perfect and in this process there will be areas that we cannot overcome even if we don't like what we see there, but what it will do for us is make us aware that they exist so that when it comes up in our life we don't react poorly to another's opinion or views. This is one of the point of light subject matters that will take a little bit longer to discuss and so I want to continue my thoughts in the next block. For right now it is good that we take the time together our thoughts on who God is made is to be. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
