THE CHARACTER OF A MAN (a piece of yourself)
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
There are few things in this life that show more of who someone is than their character. The problem is that so often it is the part of we try the hardest to hide from everyone around us. It is the part of us that is still like an unfinished art like a painting that is at it's ugliest point of completion or the masterpiece that does not yet have a suitable ending. We somehow don't want to expose our character to anyone because we inherently know it is not finished yet.
The idea that there is still a piece missing is absolutely right! The truth is there will always be a place that cannot be filled any other way but through the richness of God. Even more, is the realization that we cannot be completed until we surrender that part of us that we are holding back from everyone to a God who has promised to transform us into a creature worthy of entering into His Heaven. It is that very process that I have been laboring with now for some time. I feel the deep need to reach out to you in hope that you can see the need is not to try to give all of yourself at the same time before you can feel complete trust in God. There is a trust issue between you and God, and believe me when I say He can't trust you nearly as much as you can trust Him. Because of this consistent untrusting relationship that you may have going on right now may I make a suggestion?
Every relationship that I have ever known that lasts is built on trust first. One of the things that I have found that really worked between me and God is my ability to test His word to me at every point and turn I made. Start by giving Him a piece of your life that you want to change anyway, and see if He doesn't help you with making those changes. When that happens for you( and it will) then be sure to thank God and then He will ask you to trust Him with something else a bit more difficult, but doable. When you finally try His word to you I know that you will find His word given to be there with you always will never fail you and that what He told you about who you are is real. Now take the time to go into God's word to begin to see what He starts to say to you personally about changes that need to be made. Without any doubt, there will be things there that get your attention, but which seem to be a bit too difficult to handle. You will find that God will continue to ask you to trust and even test His word to you piece by piece as you give the old person over to be changed and renewed. Don't worry when He takes something from you He will replace it with that part of you that fits into His Kingdom and sooner or later you will be able to look back and not even recognize who you were when you started.
I want to be able to see that for you and to be a part of that change in you...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
