WHAT DID CHRIST'S DEATH ON THE CROSS DO?
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
There isn't any way of getting around the glory that has been given to God when we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord. We all start there with Christ but all too often we don't take advantage of the life-changing transformation that awaits us as we allow the Holy Spirit to take more control in our life. For all of our life, we have been taught by modern scholars to avoid sin because it is death to us, but sin is no longer the carrier of death that it was to us before Christ's act of salvation. The truth is that sin has no power over us if we stay close to Christ. It isn't that we will never sin, but the gravity of sin has changed now because we have a way toward forgiveness if we will take it.
You see upon Christ's death the veil between us and God has been torn into and a huge door has been swung open between us and our Creator. That way had before been completely shut because of Sin. Now, however, we have the chance not only to have our sins forgiven but to have an on-going relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. That means that we can walk and talk with God in the same ways that Adam and Eve could before they sinned.
The plan of Salvation is God's Plan for your salvation. The problem is that in order to find salvation we need to accept the Plan that God has given to us. We do not have the right to tweak the plan to fit ourselves and our own desires because it is a one size fits all plan. You see we get all caught up in the idea that in spite of the fact that we have basically no control over what is going in our lives except the chance to make choices and decisions about what is going on within us about what is happening around us; somehow we have been fed the idea that we are still the captain of our own ship. THAT IS A VERY FALSE TEACHING. There are also those who say that God has already done everything for us so as long as we live a good life and claim Christ we are fine. THAT IS ANOTHER FALSE TEACHING.
My dear friends these are not necessarily easy things for any of us to do because of how much we have allowed the world to influence our thinking to this point. We are going to continue with what we need to do to seek a relationship with God in the next blog. I know that these things are what we think we have known all of our lives, but perhaps we need to tweak our thinking just a bit so that we can continue to grow properly and become the adult children of God we should be. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
THE UNWORTHY SERVANT
