OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF  JESUS:

Relationships are very scary things because it requires us to let down our guard and to trust people and accept them into our inner circle. We have to treat them in the same ways we would have accepted someone as a child before our understanding that not everyone could be trusted.

Actually, I think that is what Jesus meant when He said  " Come to me as little children" because it is both what God needs from us in the way of trust, and it is what we need from Him and others in the way of love and forgiveness.
Once we have worked out who it is we want to see in that mirror for ourselves it becomes much easier to to find the right people to relate to. The chances are great that we will also find we are much more attractive to those people we want to relate to as well.  My point here is that once we understand God's principals for our life and accept the responsibility of doing something about the knowledge of who we are and who we want to be we will no longer find it necessary to run around playing ignorant games that society has invented for relationships. Scripture tells us "to those who much has been given; much will also be required" What that means is that there is a price to be paid for understanding the truth. There is a responsibility that comes to those who have been allowed to know who they really are.  One of the responsibilities is to help others to understand who they are as well.

Once we have allowed God to open us up it is much like having surgery. No matter how skilled the surgeon is we cannot help but be changed in some way. Once we are exposed to that kind of truth it only makes sense that we will be changed.  As I had mentioned the other part of that is the need for us to help others see what we have experienced.  If we can get our relationship with God sorted out the chance that we can have a good relationship with other increases dramatically, and if we cannot then we are dealing with a crap shoot, or buying just another lottery ticket and hoping for the best. There are no guarantees without God. To know our selves leads to the ability to know others and to understand them on a much deeper level than we ever could alone.

Our relationships with anyone else is based upon our understanding of ourselves, and like it or not other people can have a sense of that in you. Many people fail because they refuse to go through the first steps of self-commitment to God. The search for that commitment starts with us and deals with the very core of who we are as people. It deals with both the good and the bad parts of us being brought into the light of God's truth. Once we are opened up and the things are corrected that had been eating at us like cancer we are bound to have pain and need some time of recovery. We may try to fight that change that has been made in us or even deny it, but we will never be able to go back to claim ignorance.  Just as God has told us everything is just like a seed that has been planted within us. Everything that grows comes from that original source that comes from a place that requires transformation in the form of a kind of death or total submission to that change before it can occur. Then and only then can real life spring from death and newness from the decay of what were the parts of the old man we were before.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
