PRODUCTIVITY

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

Are you really productive in your day? Or do you find yourself just doing a good job of pretending?

When it comes to getting things done each of us are always on a different level depending on what is most important to us.  For me, it becomes the word of God on a daily basis either from preparing a study for a bible group or getting this blog prepared for those who care to read it.

Recently I have gone through a time when I was depressed about the readership of this blog going away until I also realized that those few who were still coming by to read were there for a very good reason.  Either they believed as I do in the truth being shared no matter what the circumstances or they needed what God was pouring through me to them.  Either way, there was a purpose behind what the circumstances were and I should simply remain faithful.  Armed with this new feeling of purpose, I will continue until I can no longer draw breath to share in this way with you.

I asked a question of you at the beginning of this blog, are you being productive? Sometimes that is kind of hidden or disguised in our day especially if we are walking in Christ.  It may feel like we are really stuck in the mud in the pathway we are walking and yet we may be there for a very good reason. If we begin to look around we will find that we may be feeling stuck beside someone who really needs us more so than we need to admit.  In those situations, we may be called to get them out of the mire before we worry about our own condition.  Usually, we will find that God is helping both of you at the same time and that while you thought you were stuck you had become just the right tool used to dig someone else out by God's hand.  YOU WERE NEVER REALLY STUCK AT ALL! You were just being used in a place you didn't want to be in.

Our productivity can be a thing that we never really get a grip on in life especially if we are being led by God's Spirit throughout our day.  We may have any number of divine appointments in a day or we may be led to sit quietly on a shelf and get ourselves cleaned up for the next assignment. I like the scripture that explains this process the best; it's found in the book of John 1: -8:- and 9: which says that Jesus is the light of the world.  We remain here as a reflection of that light; not as the light itself, but as a reflection which means if our point of reflection is off even to a small degree we can not be a good reflection of His light.  That alone changes our productivity, and then no matter how much busy work we may achieve we have basically made no progress at all.  In fact, if we are not reflecting God's light whose light are we reflecting?  The chances are that it is not our own, but the world's, and that can mean we have taken a wrong step backward.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
