The search for knowledge

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

In my youth one of the things that was the most important to me was for me to find knowledge, and I spent a great deal of time in my youth in search of it. As I went through my years of education the greatest knowledge that I ever found was through the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

As God has continued to teach me through the years my thoughts on knowledge have changed. This teaching from the Holy Spirit is yet another example of God's words directly to me in those days. This writing was given to me some 20 years ago for the church, and so it is time that I share with you now.
"There are those who would say that the search for knowledge is the most noble of all searches, for it dictates the quality of living necessary for one to grasp ideas and concepts that others would close their mind to. The Holy Spirit is directing me to begin the exploration of different subjects like knowledge that we as God's children might have a true perspective of the subject matter. We see many of the subjects such as knowledge as one-dimensional until we take the time to reflect on them from different directions. If we play a kind of devils advocate with these subjects perhaps we can obtain more information and understanding than ever before. Added to that is the power of the Holy Spirit's guidance in these reflections. First let's take a look at the definition of the word. According to Webster's dictionary the word means the act, fact or state of knowing. Some use the term enlightenment for knowledge but it is the one dimensional and universal definition of a concept that for God's children must run ever so much deeper than that. If we are to really see the truth according to the spirit we must look at the subject from several different angles. We can start with Johnson the play on the word knowledge. Knowing is somewhat different than knowledge in that it implies having knowing or knowledge, being shrewd or clever, having deliberate understanding. On the other hand have been know how implies that we have a working knowledge or a technical skill of something. We can have knowledge of God's word but does it mean automatically that we have a working knowledge of what his word means for our lives? I don't think so. The child of God has a much deeper journey to make with regard to seeking knowledge then that one-dimensional concept we just went over. We as a part of his family are called on to have a combination of things brought together in order to say that we have knowledge of his promises to us. Perhaps a combination of several areas and understanding the concepts of knowledge before we can be ready to begin. The Scripture tells us that we are to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves. What does that mean to us? What does wisdom have to do with knowledge? Again the Webster would say; the quality of being why this; good judgment based on knowledge. The father has brought us into the light to understand his knowledge, by the use of his wisdom through the power of his spirit in this age. Let me say here that Satan does not want you to know these things because by learning these things we can overcome his traps of deceit and failure in our lives. We are led to believe that we are bound to this world with no way to escape, that the turmoil we have seen around us will swallow his whole and there is nothing that we can do. It would seem to be a hopeless situation from the world's perspective. But the father would have you know otherwise.

It is by his design and decree that this world is made the way it is. While he is no respecter of persons and allows the good and the bad to happen at the same time and even at the same place he does have a plan which we can learn, a way in which we can approach the truth that is in fallible. If we are to learn the truth about any subject we must first of all go to the only place where we can find the truth consistently; and that is God's word. Most of our churches do not really get into the study of these things in the kind of depth and needed for the child of God to have a tool to use against Satan's lies, but here we will look at what the father has to say. David wrote in Psalms 51:6 "behold thou desire is to truth in the inner parts; and in the hidden parts thou shalt make me to know wisdom". If we are to find knowledge of God's truth for our lives we must first channel our thoughts down from the all of mankind into the study of knowledge in general to us and how it affects our relationship with our father. This is where we find the desire to know truth in the inner parts of our very souls, but before we can even begin we must make a commitment to word God teaching us wisdom, and then believe me that is easily done. The only recourse we have is once again to turn completely to the father and say"take my life father and use me today the way you have intended for me to be used! It is the turning of ourselves over to become his pupil to be taught of his spirit in ways that we may not want to learn, but must endure in order for us to understand the message he wants to give us. We know that the only way to find real truth is through the father but we may well miss unless we heed the words of Christ.  "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man can come unto the father, but by me". As followers of Christ we often are led astray by others who would have their own agendas. We can however no without any doubt that we are in his grace and in the truth of his spirit by following the spirits teachings for us. In the book of John 16:13 God tells us"howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is,, he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will show you things to come." God cannot be fooled by Satan. We however can be fooled by Satan all too often if we do not clean to the truth that is the Holy Spirit within our lives. The beginning place is the very giving of ourselves to the grace and the power of God in our lives through the abundant workings of God's Holy Spirit. It is my prayer for you that you will allow these words to seek into your hearts... May you richly bless God through your life in him.
