EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS

We are all going through a tremendous amount of testing right now...it is purposeful and directed toward finding out the truth among those who claim to be of faith.  This testing is not a good verses evil testing in the ways we often think of it; but rather it has become a weeding out process of those who are only in love with the idea of Christ and Salvation but not in love with Christ or in the commitment needed to God's plan of Salvation to transform their lives personally.

We are being tested to see what quality we are within the Kingdom of Heaven.  What that ultimately means is God is beginning to test the quality and the quantity of fruit that we allow God's Spirit to bare within us.  We are being exposed to various elements of this world that are tearing away at the facade of our Christian lives to see what people are really made of...and as the truth is revealed we are finding that many are not willing to stand for the very things they claim to believe in.  The result is that there are many whom we may have considered to be strong in Christ who are collapsing under the pressure of this world.  Without a true relationship with Christ they find the lack of physical hope for things to get better to be overwhelming.

Jesus told us that our lives would be very much the same as his life was as it is exposed to the harsh elements of hate and deceit that this world will produce against us.  The fact is that it does not matter how great our personal character is or how much resolve we have to grit our teeth through tough times...we will never be able to stand alone against the enemy.  The fact is that our whole creative makeup is designed to work with God's Spirit guiding and leading us...we are designed to be linked with God, and we will ultimately crash and burn without Him.  To the average person this kind of talk is pure foolishness because they are depending upon self and the wisdom of this world to get them through these times.  Understanding our personal limits is the beginning of understanding the unlimited power of God that can be felt within us...the difference is Him; not us.

If we look at the hardest elements known to men when they are constantly exposed to the forces of nature they change...they are brought out into the open and uncovered so that any flaws in their make up are open to be seen.  Isn't it time that we began to look around at the differences between what we know is the power of God at work in a life, and the desire of men to control?  I think we might all be surprised as to what we begin to see at work around us.  Hang in there it gets better...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
