BECOMING ONE
Greetings in Jesus:
I believe with all of my heart that the greatest gift that anyone could give to God would be to believe and work toward becoming one with Him in Spirit. We cannot do that if we are constantly getting the way any attempt that God makes for us to become united with one another.
Among the greatest of the teachings of Jesus was the realization that if we had seen Jesus we had also seen the Father because Jesus and the Father are one spiritually. If we are truly God's child then we cannot be taken from Him because Spiritually we all become a part of Him...many people take that to mean that somehow we all become like God, and that is true only in that we agree with God about life, and that we can never be forcefully removed from His hand, but it also means that we cannot be touched because we are completely under God's obedient control instead of under the influence of self desire; which is sinful rebellion. It is God's desire that we all are of the same mind and heart with Him for when that happens we will also be in complete unity with one another.
There is never a doubt that in the end of all things God will be the winner and so will we if we stay under God's care and rule. We can never hope to win as long as we continue to work under the principals of self rule and desire to control our relationship with God...or with one another. That seems to be the point for most of us in Christ; to stop trying to control our relationship with one another and allow God complete control over that reaction to and with other Christians. After all is said and done we are supposed to be a part of His body instead of Him being a part of our body. We have not been created to contain God...we were created to love and serve God. We are created to walk and talk, and to fellowship with God as His Children, but that can only come about by our being one with Him. When we have submitted to the Father, and have allowed ourselves to be changed by His Spiritual presence within us then we can also become one with oe another.
It is this and so much more that is needed for us to open up our closed off hearts to Christians all around us. Trust is not a gift from God like other spiritual matters; trust belongs both to this world as well as to our relationship with God, and is thing that is earned in any relationship. Just as we test and try the word of God in our lives so God has the right to test our word given to Him against the action of our intent of heart. I believe we are seeing that word tested more now than at any other time in history...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
