What are the foundation you are building on?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
We need to deal with the truth about foundational teachings. When I use the word foundation I suppose someone have to ask what I mean? If you were to ask most Christians they would say that they know what the foundations of their belief in Christ are. If you had to tell someone what the foundations are today for your faith in God could you? As much as you may know what they are; are you living out even the milk of the word of those foundation's in your life?
Before we begin to deal directly into these foundation teachings of Christ I would like you to understand that Christ prayed for us as a church and as individuals. Christ prayed that we would understand the things that were behind our need to not only know"the milk of the word"to be able to make it work as a major part of our life. There's one instructions to follow. Christ prayed all the time. In John 17:9 Christ prayed that we would see his glory. Christ wants us to have a life changing experience with him. John 17:22 says"the glory which thou hast given me I have given them". When Moses was exposed to God's glory his face shone, and when Isaiah saw that he cried"woe is me for I am undone". The real truth is that when you come in contact with God you will know it it will become the standard by which all other experiences are measured.
Christ prayed that we would know the word. To really know something it must become a part of you. If you claim it as truth it means believe is involved, and that means your life is tied up in it. That means that what you believe isn't just ahead the knowledge because that can be very deceiving. Some of us are very much like the woman and promise box. The world can pull Scriptures to us all day long that will say anything in any way to deceive us. It can only deceive us if we are not standing on the rock and building on a firm foundation. Christ prayed more things in that verse the third was that we would be united in love. Jesus prayed"that they may be one as we are one". That doesn't mean that we pool Scripture out of the hat to persecute one another with four we are all sinners saved by God's grace not our own grace. Unity and love starts from those in charge and covers all of those worship together and cannot survive in the other way. David wrote in Psalms 131: 1-2 that unity must start at the head and flowed down to the rest of the body. That simply means an end to her regarding and personal agendas. The last prayer request Christ made is that we would take the first three things and reach out to this world with them..This can be done by taking part in Christ's request by living out the gospel. If we don't do that there is little reason for us to witness at all. Jesus finished out his prayer for us by asking that we would each experience his joy John 17:13 " your joy comrs from within", and Paul wrote in Philippians 4:4 " rejoice in the lord always". This brings me to the very first foundation teaching of Christ" TO LOVE GOD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART, MIND AND SOUL, AND TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF"...have you been practicing what you preach?
.
The power of God's Spirit in our and reach out to this world with them.lives challenges us to constantly better all our lives and our relationship with the father.Being reminded that we always have more work to do on our lives can be hard and at the same time it can have its own hidden rewards. To be content with where we are now in Christ is the same as becoming stagnant. No movement soon will result in death. Sometimes our comfort level is a barometer of our commitment to Christian growth. The purpose for the spirit of God dwelling in our lives is not to make us comfortable but to increase the wisdom and the power of God in our lives. Because of that there is bound to be reproved and continuously deeper teaching and meaning that is being revealed to us through the power of his word. When it comes to miracles and seeing the need for them in my life all I need to do is look at the miracle he has given each of us through the plan of salvation. That then is the miracle that I choose to concentrate on because that is the miracle called on by the father to unite us in his spirit. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
