Introduction to the foundation's of our faith
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
As Christians we have gone on now for about 2000 years trying to keep the principles that Christ has laid down for us. I am afraid though that we have not built up on them successfully because we get in the way of the work of the Holy Spirit as he tries to build up the bride of Christ. Many people are already lost in what I am trying to say because they don't understand that everything that is done in building the church is God's ministry and not ours. We are merely the vessels that should carry out the work that he directs us to do.
One of those basic kinds of work is in our growth in Christ. Many people do not understand even the most basic terms of what that growth means." You must love God with all of your heart and soul, and love your brother as you love yourself". If we don't ask the right questions we will never get the right answers. The right questions deal with things that make us dig deeper personally so that we find the riches of what God wants in us to build with. The foundations that Christ has given us is eternal and complete, but if we build upon that which is permanent with inferior materials we may remain in Christ, but we will never bear fruit of the spirit. If we build up on a complete foundation with materials made up of hay and stubble we will find those materials will be burned away when they are tested... And you know it will be tested.
Unless we began to ask and it then seek answers to the questions that most men would rather ignore we will never be any more than babies in our walk with Christ. That has been the truth of Christ from the beginning. One of the first questions we need to deal with is why do we choose to do more that truth? Are we frightened of the truth? Or is it that deep inside we feel that ignorance of the truth means that we don't have to live by the truth? If we never deal with our need to grow and gain responsibility we may think that perhaps it will never be an issue. Of course the real truth is we know deep inside that can never be the case, but the same thing has been happening since Jesus first called attention to it in the synagogues 2000 years ago. Christ dared to show the people then the truth about what God really wanted from them, and that meant if they knew the truth they had to deal with the truth. It meant that if they knew the truth and did not live it out they were in sin, and they were exposed. That is why they crucified Christ, and it is why God has asked me to help wake up the bride of Christ today.
What am I really trying to say? I guess it is that I care about your personal growth in Christ. I care that you build your faith upon the foundations that Christ has already laid down for you in his word and teachings. I want for you to know what those foundations are. You see none of what I am telling you will be from a denominational view, just simply from Christ and his teachings. God wants for us to build upon the foundation he has laid with the most pure precious gold and finest Jules that we can find in our lives. The reason for the is that when they are tested they will stand as worthy of eternal glory on our behalf. I want to concentrate the next several blogs on these foundational teachings. These teachings will include some of what God has given to me in what I believe is the Holy Spirit's desire to build up the true bride of Christ within the church. We will begin with building our personal faith in Christ, and then we will begin to pull apart the various sections and groups of people within the church to look at what Christ had intended for us to be. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
