WHAT IS GROWTH?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

We all start out in basically the same place in life...we are born...so what happens to cause such a great difference in us?  In a word I believe it can be classified as growth.  What we end up with is hundreds of thousands of varied kinds of inputs and outputs we have in our brain that allows us to simulate and compile that information we come into contact with.

We all then grow from where we start into what we are right now from what we do with the experiences we have been dealt with in life.  The experiences themselves do not make us either good or bad as people just different.  Christ told us that" It is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes from him that defiles him".  It isn't even the process of growth that causes us the be dark and sinful, but it really becomes the way we process that information and those circumstances we have experiences that makes us who we are; in other words it is what we allow to come out of us that defiles us.  That is why two people can be exposed to the exact same circumstances yet come out of that with different outlooks and attitudes about it.  I don't want to believe that some people are born to be good and some are born to be bad...what I do believe is that we have choices along the way that we can make about how we will process what we receive in life.  That is a direct relationship to what seed that is planted and allow to grow within us.

Most of the time we do not realize what this world tries to plant within the soil of our lives, or what through our ignorance we allow to grow within us unhindered.  You see all of this combines into a bunch of other teaching from Christ about what we water and allow to grow within us. It is for sure that an untended garden will grow weeds...it is just a natural process.  The bottom line is what whatever our reaction is to those cycles of life that we find around us is what we control, so what happens to us is largely in our control no matter what we want to think.  We may try hard to control circumstances in life , but few of us are trying to control our reaction to circumstances in life that we did not create. These go rather unknown to us, and that is the battle that is waged everyday in our lives. Our growth is really due to our spirit within us and how much we have allowed our creator to be a part of that process.  God has asked us to allow Him to live within us as the goodness and light of who we were created to be.  He has given all that He can to assure us that we have the opportunity to choose Him and live eternally by his side, but He will not force us to choose Him.  The problem is that we cannot stay neutral  by not making any choice for if we do not choose God we will be left by God.  The gift of free will is ours for that very choice to be made.  The only way that we can grow strong and confident is by allowing God to continue to grow within us.  The soil of who we are can grow good or bad depending on what we cultivate within us.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
