STANDING FOR GOD AS THE CHURCH
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
My life has changed over the years, but the message of Jesus has never changed within me. Some 20 years ago I wrote what I am about to share with you now, and for those of you who are in this place perhaps it will still ring true.
There are times in our lives when all we can do for the cause of Christ within our lives is stand for His word and for the adopted family which we have allowed to be a part of. There are many people around us that will fall away because of the treachery their own hearts. Many people will be fooled into thinking that they must carry the load of God's service on their own shoulders when all along we are simply asked to take a stand. Jesus told us to 0ccupy until He comes again, for we too can only be here for a short while before we pass through this life as well.
While we are here we will fight many battles that if lost would claim our very souls, and there are times when all we can do is stand. When we can no longer move on our own we must be carried by our faith in God's Spirit just as small children. It is in those times we are ready to realize just how small we really are as a child of God. It is then that we can feel the presence of being the small boy with the five loaves and two fish that simply gives all that they have to Give to the master , and then watch as He creates a miracle.
When we stand we stand on the rock...the confession that Peter made that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God. If we stand firm on the principals and the foundations that God our Father has set before us we cannot be moved by this world or shaken by the tricks of the enemy. When our own strength is gone physically and we are knocked out on our feet we may be the strongest spiritually that we have ever been if we just stand for it is when Jesus does battle for us. I can see the smallest little old lady in the church quietly praying being built up into the greatest of giants in the army of Christ simply because she stands. Today we have the chance to take that stand with Jesus for the Kingdom of Heaven, and although we may not be powerful in a physical way we have the opportunity to over power the enemy of God just by standing together...would you take that stand with me? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
