LIVING BY THE GRACE OF GOD

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

Grace is a term and concept that is thrown around quite a lot today in churches, but it rarely seems to be understood by those who need it the most. We can't seem to understand how to use the grace that is given to us in our daily lives. When we begin to look at the true nature of God's grace it is inescapable to see the force that God has put on us to live each day under HIS GRACE.

We can neither live or abide in Christ without God's grace. For us to think that we can somehow take control of grace out of God's hands and wheeled it on our own strength and with our own wisdom is like a dog running in circles with the thought he is leading the pack when in truth he is chasing his own tail.  When I first started to study the idea of grace I found myself trying to go for a deeper meaning for it than we normally think of.  We know the meaning of grace as an undeserved favor from God toward mankind as sinners, but there is more to grace than that if we start to look more closely.  I found out that Grace is also the main source of the Plan of Salvation.  It is a part of God that is found in mankind.  From the very foundations of our relationships with God and with one another grace has been a part of our makeup.  Proverbs 1:8-9 " My son hear the instructions of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother; for they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck".

Psalms 45:9 " Thou art fairer than the children of men; grace is poured upon thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee forever".

Grace, therefore, becomes God looking upon us as a creation with His greatest favor, or as His favorite among all of His creation. He has extended His friendship and kindness toward us.
Genesis  6:8
 "          18:3
 "          19:19
2 Timothy 1:9  But even more than that is that this grace becomes God's forgiving mercy as we see in  Romans 11:6 or Ephesians 2:5

The most important parts of God's grace toward us are the parts that allow us to be drawn closer to Him through our love for God.
The fact is that we have been created to be loved by God, and that is exactly the reason for His willingness to bring about a plan of Salvation for us.  You see that part of Grace from God to us begins with God sending a part of Himself as a sacrifice for the sin that we were talked into committing.  That grace shown by Christ on the cross extinguished the ability of sin to interrupt our relationship with God if we accept God's forgiveness and continue to walk with Him. We have been saved from the curse of the law that was created to point out our sin. That grace was first proclaimed by John the Baptist John 1:6-18.

Romans 6:14 tells us we are no longer under the law but now we are under the grace of Christ. We must continue to stand in that grace under Christ even today to complete the ministry of Salvation that God has begun on our behalf. That grace is tied into our own commitment to continue to live in God's favor and it is all about our own ability to give as well. In truth, grace is a form of giving that can be exercised in every state of life. It can be shown in the worst kinds of poverty so it is not linked with wealth in any way. It can be shown as a form of fellowship that absolutely cannot be denied.  The greatest repayment of Grace, however, is that of our dedication back to God out of love for Him. The point here is to show us that Christ became poor so that we might become rich.  That grace from God should also be the unity that brings the body of Christ together.  If we are really in our commitment to Christ and or in our love to God there will be an automatic unity in the body of Christ, and that then is what the Gospel or the Good News is all about.  I want to go further with these thoughts, but I will continue in the next blog. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
