BECOMING PERFECTED IN CHRIST a fight for maturity

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

A large number of Christians do not know what it means to be perfected in Christ.  I think that is due to the fact that we have never really been taught about perfection in the terms that God chooses to look at it.  In fact, there are many times when we have the wrong concepts about various words and terms used in the scripture either by our misinterpreting what is meant or by our changing the meaning from its original intent.

A very good example of this is found in the concept of perfecting someone in Christ.  When Paul was writing his letters to the church at Corinth in 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 he spoke in terms of those who were not perfected being able to be easily swayed by the princes of this world.  He was talking about the attitudes and views of the very kinds of people who were led to crucify Christ never really being able to grow up in the principals of what Christ taught because they could never mature enough to understand Spiritual things.  There is hidden wisdom that can only be received through seeking after God with a whole heart.  It isn't reserved for those who are smart in the eyes of this world or those who have achieved a certain status among men, but rather to those who have sought after God with a pure intent of heart.  These people will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who in turn will teach them all things of great value to being able to grow and mature in Christ.  BEING PERFECTED MEANS BECOMING MATURE IN CHRIST!

This hidden wisdom is reserved for those who are in God's Kingdom but even more so to those who can be trusted with that knowledge.  This tells me that even though we may be a part of God's Kingdom if we never seek growth we will remain unlearned just like babies. That can and does many times present a problem.  You see one of the reasons we get so divided in Christ is that we turn our terms upside down in their meaning.  When we all use and understand the same terms we can go a long way toward achieving the goals that are set for us by Christ, but just like in the story of the tower of Bable when we can no longer communicate properly we easily lose our power.

This wisdom means that we are all on the same page with the meanings of what Christ told us and not what we have changed the meaning to over time.  As we change our perspective of or our meaning of what a word is we can lose any power that it may have one time had with mankind. Take the word LOVE as an example...today we cannot understand the meaning of the word in the sense that God had intended it because we have changed the meaning even in the minds of God's people to the point that when love is mentioned an eyebrow is often raised.

It is time therefore that we begin to look more closely at the terms in God's word to us to secure their meaning from His heart to our minds.  Many people have now concluded that God asks us to do the impossible by being perfected in Christ, but remember that when we are born we are expected to begin to grow and mature in life.  The same is true with our life in Christ.  The real cause for divisions is us, and that can be corrected through the ways we look at God's desires for us.  When has perfection meant to you?  Have you divided yourself from understanding it by using the wrong meaning?  As we continue to look at this concept of division between ourselves and God and our division between us as His children I hope that you can begin to see your role in being perfected in Christ.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
