GETTING STUCK delivering the message #3
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
For a great many people the method of the delivery of the Gospel becomes almost more important than the message itself. It is for that reason that the Holy Spirit has directed me to say something to you about this. We must be careful that the methods we use to preach the gospel do not become something that overshadows the message of Christ we are called to deliver. That message was given to all of us through the sacrifice that He made on the cross. It is a victory over sin through our acceptance and action taken on our faith in Christ. It is the grace shown to us through the love that has had for us from the beginning; even from the time when we were yet strangers and sinners to Him.

When we begin to look at the tremendous differences in the styles of worship today we cannot help but feel separated from one another because of the wide emotions that are expressed.
We have caused ourselves strife within the church because we have allowed the world to dictate our worship of God by what we feel and control about God instead of worshipping God. We have given ourselves so much credit for understanding the things of God that we have gotten away from a concentrated effort to stay close to the simple message of salvation and what that salvation means before we try to go into things that are deeper. We may well know the details of deeper things from what we read, but we cannot understand their meaning without having had and experienced what salvation really means. We so easily become like those who need to be taught again the fundamentals of our faith in Christ because we get off track through taking our knowledge for granted. I recall how Jesus said to the leaders of His time " You are in error of the scriptures" and how indignant they were when He would point out their own foolishness. We all have chinks in our armor and there is no one without sin. I have found more than anything that it is not the wise of this world that holds the key. It is not the rich or the powerful whom God has chosen, but the weak and the foolish in the eyes of this world who bear the truth.

It is very important for our concentration to be on our worship of God and not on the style of service we create around the worship of God. Why did Christ choose the weak and foolish to proclaim His Good News? It was because no one should boast in self but only in the power of God to speak forth the truth. Christ chose men who were not learned men, but common men that they should do very uncommon things in the power of God's Spirit living within them. Paul did not want to see God's word placed in the hands of those who gave clever arguments, but who instead showed the power of God's Spirit within them.
1 Corinthians 2:13 speaks of comparing spiritual things with spiritual things which means bringing out Spiritual truths to Spiritual minds. Combining Spiritual truths with Spiritual language. The natural man cannot understand these things because he does not have the Spirit of God to teach him. We cannot use the things of this world to proclaim the Gospel of Christ for that very reason. It is time to leave the things of this world behind when we are trying to worship God. That does not mean that we have to change what we feel inside or what we use to worship, but it does mean that it is time to change our attitude about how we approach God in worship. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
