IF YOU LOVE SOMETHING what will you do?

 GREETINGS IN JESUS:

Every so often our human hearts ask a question about love in the context of what God had intended for love to be thought about. GOD LIKES PURITY of thought and mind when referring to love as opposed to the things this world has interpreted the word to mean. I remember the phrase from " Johnathon Livingston Seagull" If you love something set it free if it comes back, it was, and always will be yours and if it never returns, it was never yours, to begin with.

When it comes to the real use and meaning of love we need to ask ourselves "what are we going to do with it if we do indeed find it"?  The term LOVE has become a kind of forgetful subject today because when we talk about it there are so many different "Rabbit Holes" we can go down it becomes a subject that goes in every direction.  One of my purposes in doing this blog is to try to give you something to chew on spiritually during the week. In dealing with this subject of love we have covered almost all aspects of love with God, but one that no one seems to talk about in the process of forgiving sin is God's forgetfulness once a sin is forgiven.  I think it is the part of forgetfulness on our part in the forgiveness process that causes us the most trouble so I want to talk to you about our part in the process of forgiveness. "Forgetting the things of the past we press on to the high calling of God through Jesus Christ our Lord," Paul says.  While there are many different kinds of love, and many of these love types try to replace God's, genuine love. Paul writes in I Corinthians 13:1 " I will show you a more excellent way". He goes on to write about the fact that it does not matter how great we may be among men; if we do not have love we are nothing at all.  While we may think that we understand love, but I don't think we may understand the love that God has given us because it is also tied up with another word IF. This, in fact, is one of the most overlooked words in the scriptures.

IF YOU LOVE ME YOU WILL...Keep my commandments.
We just spoke about what love means to us in I Corinthians 13: to paraphrase it; love is conditional, and it is based upon " If we really love" and not upon what we give lip service to.
Jesus quoted Isaiah in Matthew 15:8-9 " These people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me; they worship me in vain; their teachings and rules are but rules taught by men".  We find ourselves in a constant change in this life, but the gift of God's love is one of the most abused of all things in life. The sad thing is that it is not the world around us that abuses it, but it is we who say that we receive it that abuse it the most. I am going to have to take some time on this subject, and I want to start out with the ways that God has shown us to love. I want to begin in this next blog with some of the things we leave out of love altogether...FORGETFULNESS.  It is probably one of the most successful ways to love God has given us, and that the enemy robs us of.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
