FOLLOWING THE LIGHT
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
What a fearful thing it is when we come face-to-face with God's law. It seems like the very stones under her feet crying on for our blood, and the law of God certainly cries out for justice. That law has no mercy it demands from us the very soul within us that has broken it to die!
The difference in all of this is in the judge who rules over our life and through that very law can change your destiny. It guns own discretion he can and does administer the spirit of the law and it's that very spirit of God's law that rejoices over judgment because God is rich in mercy to everyone who calls upon his name. The letter of the law kills, because it was designed to convict, and show us the truth about our lives. The spirit on the other hand is designed to bring life to an otherwise doomed so. Our salvation is designed that way because God would rather acquit a criminal from the courtroom and he can do so now because of what Jesus Christ did upon the cross of Calvary. In the book of John 8: 11-12 is the account of Jesus dealing with a woman who was caught in adultery. After everyone had dropped their stones and walked away, Jesus asked her "has no man condemned you? She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, neither do I condemn you go and sin no more. Then Jesus spoke again to the people saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shot have the light of life"
Just as there are conditions in following the letter of the law, which convicts and condemns our soul to never be good enough so old so are there conditions in God's mercy and spirit. Jesus said in
John 8:31-32 "then Jesus said to those Jews which believed on him, if you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." On many different occasions Jesus made statements very similar to that when he told people to follow in his footsteps, to obey his commandments, and to follow the same spirit that led to him to do and say the things that God had sent him among us to do and say. The one thing that I can say without any doubt is that this world belongs to the enemy of God. We tend to think of the enemy of God is already defeated, and indeed he is as far as any kind of power over God or anyone in God's kingdom, but we must operate our lives through the power of God's. Instead of through the same channels as the rest of the world operates. In John 8: 44 Jesus said concerning the enemy of God," you are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is the liar, and the father of it." This world cannot understand the truth, and it cannot believe the truth because the eyes and ears of those who are following in the footsteps of the natural man have become both blind and dumb to the truth. I don't believe that we realize just how addicted most of us are to the world around us. Before we can hear or understand words of truth spiritually we must become open to the spirit of God. Even at that point we must be drawn by the spirit to see cancers for those things that we cannot understand about life. Jesus and mood just how powerful the enemy of God was in his ability to control mankind. The devil is called the god and prince of this world, and the ruler of darkness ( 2 Corinthians 4:4, ACTS 26:18; Ephesians 6: 12 ) the enemy seeks to hinder the work of God and keep the word of God subdued ( Matthew 13: 38-39; 1 Thessalonians 2:18 )
Jesus did indeed have some unique words; words like anyone who bays him would not die. He wasn't talking about obeying through works as a means to salvation, but obedience becomes a sign of salvation. As Christians we keep God's word because we love him. (John 14:23 ) in order for us to fully believe in Christ we must decide who it is he is; was he God in human form, or simply a profit?
The world because it cannot understand the nature of God can accept them only as a prophet of God which gives us as men a form of control. If I give you a small piece of cheese from a large block; the taste of the cheese being consistent throughout the whole block, and you spit out the cheese saying that you hate the taste, then you reject the whole block. Jesus was God manifest in human form. If the Jews rejected him they rejected the father also, he who is of God's heart here is God's words. The second truth of all of this is that whoever denies the sun, the same denies the father. We have many people in today's churches who are trying to teach Jesus as a good man, but not as God. If we are going to have power within our Christian lives through God's spirit then we are going to have to make a final decision about the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives.
