A point of light making our Christian life relevant
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
For many people today the struggle to make the Christian life relevant to the world around them that they work and play in is increasingly difficult. We are not able to physically leave this place to be a part of the spiritual kingdom in yet we are called on to somehow bring that spiritual kingdom here with us. It's hard enough for most people to just live the life that is set before them without setting to kingdoms in front of them to live the same time so what do we do? It is found in the determinations we make about the amount of focus we are willingly putting on one or the other as we live our lives out here. We are told that we are no longer part of this world even though we live in this world and yet so few people understand the concept of the. There are so few who can actually live this way or who can understand. Most of us have the same complex as did the disciples of Christ when he told them about his mission here. They heard the words but they did not understand the concept of. Just like those first disciples we need to have texts and lessons from which we must learn. We have choice either temporary or eternal that we must make because we are not heard by the words that we say but by the intent of our hearts. What then was it that changed in these people that help them to see through different eyes? I believe it was the perspective they use to look at the world around them. It became a"mind set"that enabled them to concentrate on the things of God rather than on the things of the world.
Many people have the same things happened with other goals that they have in mind to achieve. Weight loss, quilting, smoking, and starting a new regimen of exercise can all make a tremendous"mind set"to achieve. I use this term because it sets us up to realize that there must be a change that happens from within us, and by us and order first to begin that difference in our lives. Something has to become relevant to us before it can be made a part of our lives. It simply means that our lives are now completely affected by whether or not we have something there that is helping to change who we are. For the Christian this kind of reality should begin when we start defining our life differently from what we've always had before accepting Christ as our Savior. Christ himself spoke of the spiritual life in the physical life we live in terms of two different kingdoms. He said the the kingdom that he represents is not of this world. The reality of that statement to us should be that of Christ's kingdom is not of this world and neither should ours be of this world. The reference to there being two separate kingdoms is so strong that it should become evident that we should be letting go of this kingdom in order make way in our lives for the new Kingdom that we are supposed to be be preparing to receive. The concepts of two separate worlds existing at the same time and that we are a part of both in some way is difficult to understand and yet for us to realize that we are in this physical kingdom only to prepare us to live in the spiritual kingdom begins to make perfect sense. We cannot live in both at the same time but we can find a relevance in living and one to prepare for the other. The real truth of the two kingdoms both spiritual and physical is that the physical kingdom has its relevance to the spiritual through our preparation here for life in that spiritual kingdom but the life we have in the spirit has very little relevance to this world. That is why we must begin to ship this mortal world and replace the desires we have things this world with those things that are spiritual in nature. In simple terms it means that not only is Christianity not relevant to this world but neither should the Christian be as a child God. When we began our spiritual journey we also begin the process of exchanging those things that we have continued to cling to for the things that we've been promised to us through the word of God.
We are exchanging a temporary life for a permanent life through the power of God's Holy Spirit. That is the way we actually become in the world and yet not a part of the world as the Scripture tells us. Have you ever really thought about what reality is? It is simple really, because what were going through here is much like a massive physical virtual reality where the real and important parts of our existence is yet to be lived. What makes this place of any importance at all is the fact that it is here that we determine where the rest of our eternity will be spent. We relate to all we want to learn and to do what we are preparing to to live in the spiritual kingdom of God which we become a part of by accepting Christ as our Savior. We are only a part of the physical place now because we are alive in this physical place. All of our senses are caught up in hearing, feeling, touching, seeing, and tasting so we can't really since the reality of the spiritual even though we know in our hearts and minds that it is there. Just as in any other virtual-reality situation there are rules we must follow in order to experience it to its fullest, but we can since the truth of the spiritual that is all around us. God continues to provide us with the ultimate experience and yet we have a choice to make as to how much we are willing to be covered by the game, and the lessons that we are exposed to learn while we are here. Those choices are continuously being made as we take our journey through this life and how well we deal with it depends upon our perception of what is real to us. This reality is all that we sense around this but in fact it's not all that there is to us. Our soul bids us to seek more from our existence. Our minds tell us we should be afraid of making mistakes, and our hearts content becomes the prize that is fought so hard for as we continue to make choices. I pray that you can understand what I'm saying to you, and that you along with all the rest of us in the bride of Christ can begin to awaken to what that reality is. I welcome your comments, questions, and prayers as we continue our journey together. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
