SHARING OUR FAITH IN CHRIST

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

This year as things begin to click and the new year starts to roll by let's take the time to understand some of the basic principals of how we should go about living the Christian life.

I want to deal with such questions as how we deal with witnessing to our co workers, and those who are over us at the work place?  We may not realize how much this world governs our attitudes toward work and other things in this life.  We cannot watch people cheat and steal on t.v.every night without the general idea of getting by with such things comes to play in our minds.  Just like trying to protect our children from the real corruption of this world in the movies and the music they listen to we need to begin to govern our own intake of these things if we are going to do well in life.  We have all heard the golden rule and yet in the heat of the days battles we can easily forget  even what principals we say that we stand for.  That is one of the reasons we need to have these things before us all the time so that we can remember them.

Colossians 3:23 speaks to us about doing everything that we do as though we were actually doing it for God, and not for just another paycheck or another person.  I really think that the intent behind what we do is often more important than the thing we do itself.  Having a calm mind and heart toward our approach to the day and to the work we are doing goes a long way in being able to stay calm when things break down.  People around us tend to listen more to someone who is not upset or rattled.  When others around you are grumbling and complaining it can easily be your personal ethics in Christ that gets everyone through the storm by forgiving with a steadfast spirit, and it will make an impression on the whole circumstance.  You will have reacted in the same way the coffee bean reacted to the boiling water by releasing your flavor of Christ into the situation.

I have learned that it is not the big things that matter with people and your witness in Christ; but the little things that count the most.  I won't say it will be easy for you, but as you continue to respond in a Christ-like way to an angry co-worker or a stressful situation people will begin to see a difference in your life.  You will begin to feel a change within you as you continue to work toward the goal of expressing Christ alone in those situations.

If people around you are sharing their weekend of drinking and partying simply share your weekend with Jesus. At first they will stop in their tracks, and then they will test you to see if what you are saying is true.  The majority will reject you if you keep it up, but I can tell you that someone is listening and watching you to see if you are real.  Are you real?  Do you want to be real?  It starts with your personal experience with Christ as your Lord.  There are no short cuts and no " i'll do when I feel like it"in real Christianity.  I pray if you have any questions that you will contact me.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.

THE UNWORTHY SERVANT
