STANDING AT THE EDGE

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS OUR LORD:

Our world is getting closer every day to being on the very edge of a very large abyss that cannot be bridged or climbed. It is a moral decision and a spiritual result that hangs in the balance for mankind.  It is something that cannot be avoided forever, and that we as individuals must deal with at some point in our lives.

Yes, it is true that it is about God, and about our relationship with Him, but even deeper than that it is about you as a person and what hope you have in your life that anything will get any better than it is right now.   I remember going through times when I thought " If this is all there is to life I'd rather take a gun and blow myself away!"  The truth is that this life is not all there is, but you will never find that out unless you take the time to do some research for yourself about it.  Quite frankly if this is all there is to life I am not amused or impressed with it.  I guess I am one of these people who ask too many questions and look behind the hidden agendas that those who are in power like to trick us with, but for me, there has to be more than dealing with living in a world that bites and scratches, cheats and lies to steal whatever it can from hardworking and honest folk.

If you believe in God (and I do) then you must believe that what He is saying to us is true enough to want to do something to prepare yourself for what comes next.  I am 73 now and perhaps I am more tuned in to what comes next than you are for various reasons, but I know as well that there are many people I know who have been getting various messages from God throughout their lives that are telling them not to wait or put off getting ready for what is to come.  Now I am not talking about the second coming of Christ; I am talking about your first coming into the presence of God unexpectedly!

It is that event that we cannot foresee any more so than we can see Christ's second coming to this world, but we can be prepared more so for this event than we can for His coming by making sure we have a plan mapped out for us that we are actively involved in following.  I don't know about you but I don't like being unprepared for things.  Your relationship with God has nothing to do with being a member of a church or how often you attend services somewhere because you and I are the church in God's eyes.  What I am talking about is the development of a personal relationship between you and the Father to the point that He knows He can count on you, and you know you can count on Him.

Dear friend, I feel like I have said about everything that I can say about our need to seek out God for our lives. You can simply go back and read some of the past blogs I have written on the subject. They stand for themselves my position on God and our need to find Him.  One thing I will never do is stop trying to get through to you that we can prepare now for what is inevitable; which is our own journey from this life and time of the decision to that of standing in front of God and not knowing what to say!   I love all of you and pray for you every day. I hope you will continue to pray for me as well. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
