2020 PLANNERS
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
I am sure that we have all gotten out our 2020 planners by now and taken a look at what is going down this year. All of the normal things we want to take place this year like increasing our income or changing a habit that we have, but as we go down through things we will also find that the pages and the dates we fill in are not the real people we are. Some times our schedule does not reflect the person we are anymore than the schedule we keep with our church reflect the truth about our walk with God.

We often look at our schedule in a way of what we have accomplished by what we have checked off of a list and we call it a success if we have filled that calendar with activities, but is that really true? Once again we have two very different concepts of reality at play here between this world and the spiritual parts of us. This world is filled with a schedule of times and places to be while our spirit longs simply to be accepted and loved by God. The world speeds things up to an unbearable pace while God tells us to slow things down to a pace where we no longer are confused or deceived by the cons that continue to pitch impossible schemes to win at any cost or be number one in any situation. I was told once that I could never be a good salesman because I couldn't lie well enough. What I have found in this life is that we can have whatever we want if we can drop our conscience off at the nearest corner. The truth is that most of us still feel the sting of telling outright lies, but we are not asked by the world to do that at first. We start by white lies on small things like how we really feel. Some of us, in fact, will lie about how we really feel about things every day of our lives until we grow apathetic to the truth. It isn't until we have grown apathetic about the truth that this world will ever ask us how we feel about God.
I have a question for you...have you found yourself busy in the church on the calendar, and yet feeling further away from God in your heart? Are you really deceiving yourself about your relationship by using the techniques of the world to fill in the blanks you have been telling yourself?
If there is one accomplishment I would like to make this year it is to be very gut-level truthful with myself about how I feel about my relationship with God as well as with this world. To be honest I am finding it much harder to play a huge part in both at the same time. It is time to make a choice about what we want most in our existence...is it God and His promises to us or is it the fake promises of this world? It is just something to chew on for a while. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
