To the church

                                          A PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY                                            

     THERE IS NO DOUBT in the fact that our country has gone through some of the most difficult times in 2020 it has ever seen, and this has left most of us shaken from a kind of disbelief in most of the things we had previously thought were unshakable in our society.

  Among these things have been our understanding and trust in the government we have lived under all of our lives.  It isn't because of the system being broken or a need to fix or solve something, but it is in the trust of the people around us.  I don't know about you but it is very hard for me to put any trust in people.  That started with me from my experience in the military during the Veit Nam War because I found out how much our own people lied to us about the real reasons we were fighting and giving our lives for things that were not at all where our values stood as Americans.

  It is one thing to change our mind about the values we have held because we are convinced that changes need to be made as a Nation of people who have weighed the choices after the truth has been presented to us, but it is quite another thing when lies, schemes, and greed pushes some people to cheat the rest of us from making a decision for ourselves on what is right and wrong. If you know the difference between what freedom really is and what dictation is like about what to wear, eat, and say; or where you can go or who you can associate with then you have a stake in making a decision about changing things that will affect your life.  My problem is that I don't see anyone in charge of decisions who understands freedom in America and what it means to the majority of those who live here.

  What I do see is a group of whipped up people with no real experience in this life of what freedom is or means trying to force socialism on our lives when most of us know it won't work.  Anyone trying to enter this country from any place else can tell you why they want to be here...FREEDOM; and most of them know what it is like to not have it even if they do come here illegally.  I think the best thing we can do as Americans right now is to sort out what is lie from what the truth is. We can start with this election.  Let's get back on track with the truth and let the chips fall where they may. I had retired from posting, but I had to write this to you. It is my prayer that we can use God's wisdom in this and not our own.
