Christ among us

 Greetings in the name of Jesus:

  For a long time now I have been dealing with the need to prepare for the last stages of my life and ministry.  At every turn, I have found that at the center of my calling in Christ has been the need to create.  I am now 74 and that desire and need have never diminished within me.

 The message has never changed for me, and if anything needs for the truth of God's word is more important now than ever before to me as I have found it is to those whom God's Spirit has sent my way. This has prompted me to begin to write once more as a kind of refreshment of life within me for the cause of Christ. Over the years I have written the same message over and over and yet each time I write I have the sense that somewhere a word or thought may be used that will reach a withered heart or despondent soul.  For those of you who have not heard from me for a while, I am still teaching the word in my home on Thursday nights with what has evolved into a men's group of anywhere from 8 to 12 men.  One of my hopes is that I can continue studies with you who happen by as the Holy Spirit draws you to read or spend time with this blog.

  This study will be open to everyone and I would very much welcome comments and your own thoughts. Hopefully, with some open-ended questions, we can develop a weekly dialogue that will both work for you and give you some new thoughts on scripture that you have thought you knew so well.  In the next few weeks, we will be starting study in the book of Hebrews so the first studies will be there. It will hopefully be an answer for those who cannot break away from other obligations to be with us.  I will be letting the men know of this effort at the next session which will be here in our new location.
