THE NORMAL WAY OF LIFE

                         GREETINGS IN CHRIST:

It feels like the things that we have always considered to be normal as a way of life are very quickly changing before our eyes. In particular, is the changes that are being made in the public mind about the role that church and worship should play in everyday life.  There is a strong push to eliminate any kind of conservative view or approach in life by downplaying the Spiritual influence in social or public participation in our government policies.

While I am sure that those who want to do away with the very principles and bi-laws that our country was built upon would be more than happy to see Christians not participate in developing the laws we live by it is not what God says concerning our role in life.  I am reminded that God's people are to be peculiar people; but just what does that really mean?  If you are struggling with the meaning I have a few things that may help:

          1. While I have seen some rather strange-looking people among Christians it is not the general appearance of anyone that should be the concern, but rather the content of their heart.  I find the heart's intent to be the main theme of God's concern with mankind.

          2. The real sense of who we are as God's people are always under attack; especially when we fail to hold up to our commitment to follow God's word in our life but that does not mean we are free to continue to fail forever but it should mean that we have a goal to be reached.  The intent of our heart to do our best to reach those goals must be made evident in our daily lives.

          3. Being able to forgive those who have hurt us the most in this life is probably one of the biggest things that cause us to be peculiar to this world because we are not the same people that live and thrive in a "dog-eat-dog" world.

          4. I think the world hates us the most because we are "PEACEMAKERS" among a mixture of hate-filled and war-minded people who are only seeking power and privilege over everything they can see, touch, and be a part of.   It makes these people angrier than anything else when they can't get you to yell and argue with them about something that does not matter in the first place.

My own goals are in focussing on getting ready for my new eternal life with Christ. At least I won't have to spend my time trying to be a peacemaker among people who want to fight one another all of the time...that will at least be all settled where I am.  I want you to know that you are in my prayers as always, may you richly bless God through your life in Him.

THE UNWORTHY SERVANT
