CHOICES

Greetings in Jesus:

When I think about all of the years I have spent trying to convince those who are supposed to already believe that what I have been saying now for over 30 years from the Holy Spirit is true I can't help but relate to what Paul went through with the Corinthian church.  The more I study the word the more I understand that our human nature never really changes which makes the word of God even more relevant than ever before.
The reason I say that is because the word of  God never changes and so the answers found within scripture never change. Our spiritual condition is actually based on the choices we make in life.  It is not so much the experiences we have or even the circumstances we endure in life as much as it about the choices we make for our response to them.

I believe that is why we can never get around the word of God when it comes to our sinful nature because the word of God is much like an owner's manual of the human spirit.   Everything that we have been built inside of us as creatures has already been written in those words if we take the time to look for it. It is also in our nature to think that free will to choose means we have the right and freedom to be our own boss, but it only means that we have the freedom to choose; not to rule.  The fact is that we will pay for each choice we make in some way either in this life or the next.  I have made choices that I pay for every day as I get older with my family and children, and that I pay for in this life.  There are other choices that I have made that take me out of the mainstream of the world around me because of a desire I have to be close to God.  Some of those choices have alienated me from the social styles that are being adopted by people who refuse to think for themselves and would rather have others think for them.

Some times I think about the scripture that Jesus used " If the blind leads the blind they will both fall into the pit" and that is exactly what happens when you allow this world to lead your choices because this world neither knows you or God.  Like the horse, I have drawn for this message to you we are all on a free-range in this life that allows us the impression of being in charge of our own lives, but each choice we make also has its own consequences.  Some of those are reversible if you have the courage to face them.  I have learned here later in my life to pick my battles very carefully because I know how very weak I am in certain things. One thing I do know is that no one can make decent choices without God's help in it.  The longer I live it seems to me the more I tend to give things over to God to deal with because I realize my own mortality and weaknesses.

The scripture tells us that we walk (for the most part) in darkness because we refuse to be guided by the light. Hopefully, at a certain time in life, someone will come along and show us that it is so much easier to walk without stumbling if we walk in the pathway of where the light shines for our benefit. I would certainly direct you toward that light where you can most easily see the flaws that are presented to you as perfection from this world, and so that you might be able to make or wiser choice that is based upon the truth.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
