THE SIGNALS OF A CLOSING AGE

Dear friends in Christ:

The time is drawing closer for all of us to find our peace with God in a relationship that we can maintain and be confident in.

By now I have written enough to fill several books to you on the subject of having a good relationship with Christ.  I have tried to leave the past writings available to you so that if you had questions or a need for further information it could be made ready for you.  It seems as though you have not been interested over these last 20 years in pursuing a question and answer dialogue with this blog and so I have tried to bring you as much insight as I can from my walk with the Holy Spirit.

As I have read through Paul's writings to the Corinthian church in detail I have found we are much more like the church in Corinth than we may have imagined we were. We have poked some fun at some of the things the world around us has done, and we have also gotten pretty upset at times over some of what we have seen being done not only by the world at large but also by the local church.  We have a commission as the church of Jesus Christ to love God with all of our heart, mind, and soul; and then to love our neighbor as we love ourselves and yet we still are only in the infant stages of understanding that it is the people who are the church and not the building.  It is as the people of God we have the power to dictate the change in our world through that love we so often refer to, but seldom use in our lives.

While the first half of my life was fraught with destruction and failure I have spent the second half of my life seeking after God in a very serious way. During that time my very character has changed from one which was in the average of my own thoughts in the way I had let this world control the ways I reacted to life and allowed my daily routine to be governed to mere knee jerk response to things rather than taking the time to think and pray my way through things.  In most ways, it has not been until the last 5 years of my life that I have really begun to test the power of God's prayer life on my everyday existence.  What I mean by that is in asking God's opinion and guidance for everything that I do in a day, and then trying to follow through on that answer given to me.  I have been seeing more and more people who ( like me) have been living without that kind of guidance and affirmation from God every day of their lives, and I realize how hard it is to live that way.

You might be able to tell from the lack of blogs I have created lately that I don't want to try to convince you or preach to you any longer about what God has poured through me over the last 30 years of my life basically because it does not seem to work for you, and being in my seventies now I am burning out!  What I would rather do is be able to share with you some of what God has been doing as He has given me insight about what I have needed to do to be drawn closer to Him.  I do that in hope that in some way it might now cause you to think for yourself about what He is desperately trying to do in your own life. I cannot make you feel God's love for you or cause you to suddenly see Him in a different light you can receive for your life, but I can do what He has asked us all to do with and for one another all along, which is to share with you what He has done for me and challenge you to look to Him for answers.  God has used my life in many and various ways. Some of them were to be used even when it was unintentional. In those times I was taught lessons about how God can even use what others think to be evil for His purposes.  I didn't really know what true evil was then, but I have come to realize that it exists around us at all times in the form of the lies and deception we use on a daily basis with one another. The things we think privately about someone or what we mumble under our breath that hurts others, or the deceit of causing someone to think we agree with them only to have an agenda of our very own.  In so many ways I wish we could not hide those things from one another; that we could in some way be able to read one another's hearts intent the way God does with us so that it would be so much more difficult to lie or deceive.  Our general lives would change so much if that were to happen.  I will always continue to look for ways to bring truth to you in each blog I write.  I hope that you will connect with what I have to say.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
